Message From The Guild Master: The Current State of Raiding

Postby Koramoor » Tue Mar 09, 2010 9:03 am

Please read the following carefully. After reading please direct any Question, Comments or QQ to me directly. I can be found almost always on either Koramoor, Koramaar, Shaihalud, Stoneburner, or Quatermayne.

Covenant was founded to be a raiding guild that clears current content, at the moment we are sitting at 4/12 of Icecrown Citadel on farm. With the lack of progression in our 25man runs some things have to change in order for us to evolve and grow as a raiding guild. With that in mind the Commanders and I have enacted a plan to revitalize our waning interest as a guild in regards to progression. Some may believe this to be too "Hardcore", but keep in mind what follows has always been in the charter. We are just placing more of an emphasis on it and moving away from the lax nature we have had in regards to enforcing these rules.

Raider Effort Points:
Everyone is being dropped to Member status.
To reattain your raider rank you will be judged on several criteria outlined below.
Note only commanders are able to see what your current Raider EP value is. Do not ask for this info it will not be given.
Values for gains and losses are the same for every character regardless of race, spec, or class.

Attendance:
No spot is saved in 25m. If you provide us with notice before raid that you may be late your spot can possibly (but not definitely) be saved up until the first boss pull, if you are not online at that time you will be replaced be a guild member or a pug.
If you choose not to run on a progression night you forfeit your entire DKP for the week. I.E. We run Lower spire on Wednesday and on Sunday you choose not to raid yet are still online or in vent during the raid time your DKP gained from Wednesday will wiped.
If you are not able to make raids for at least 1 week/lockout you must notify us by using the AFK forum located on the guild forums.
AFK in raid is getting out of hand not to the point of too many going AFK but people going AFK without notifying anyone. If you are going AFK you must notify the raid that you are going AFK. We do not care why you are going AFK but you must at least tell us you are doing so. Also flag yourself as AFK, in game type /afk.
Come prepared. If you join raid and ask for flasks, gems, enchants, or glyphs you are considered to not be on time. Failure to comply with this will result in losing your on time bonus DKP as well.
If you choose to not run 25m you are not awarded any form of DKP whether it be farmable or on time and have to wait for items to be rolled upon before you can get a shot at them if you happen to one day run a 25m.
Failure to comply with these rules will cause your Raider EP to drop.

Performance:
You must have a minimum wowheroes score of 2600 to enter ICC 25m. This can be obtained simply by running the new heroics and purchasing triumph ilevel gear (232).
For DPS you must at least pull 80% of the dps given by rawr for your character.
You must be fully gemmed and enchanted.

Preparation:
You must have at least once watched all ICC videos of at least the normal difficulty encounter.

Raid Etiquette:
Vent Chatter must be kept to a minimum.
If you are not a Commander or a Tank you are not to queue up in vent after a boss is pulled.
Do not suggest a strat for a fight in vent or in the raid channel if you have a suggestion whisper a Commander. (Commanders if you receive a whisper in regards to a raid strat please inform other Commanders of this in the officer channel.)
If you are not a Commander or Tank do not post your feelings about how long we are taking to clear trash, recover from a wipe, or post how people need to suck less or stop failing.
If you feel we are doing poorly that's fine it's your opinion. Others however do not want to hear it. If you feel we are wiping too much or that it is wasted time please leave your disparaging comments to yourself or leave the raid.

Gear:
To obtain ICC 25m gear you must be replacing a piece that is at least ilevel 232. For Heroic gear the piece must be at least ilevel 245. For trinkets you can replace gear as long as one of your trinkets is not of Rare quality (blue).

First off, I commend Byron for steping up and saying what I believe alot of us were thinking. Yes I want my WoW time to be fun, but you know along with that I want that progression, I want those achivements...as I believe deep down we all do, I mean thats why we play the game. Time to get serious with what we are doing for a bit, I mean we are only asking we seriousness during raid times and the rest of the time we have fun. And seriousness doesn't mean no fun, it means knowing the difference between when to say something and when not to, that is all. Well anyways thats my two cents, thank you all for listening and see you all when servers come back up!
