Notes:

This is the Charter of Covenant on Undermine-US. It is our vision, our mission, and our process. If you don't agree with the philosophy or the system, then Covenant is not the guild for you.

I. Progression
This is a raiding guild, first and foremost.

Our goal is to clear the most advanced content currently available. Some call this hardcore. We call it fun. We will complete farm runs on old content to gear players, however bleeding edge content is always our priority.

We’re going to wipe. A lot. Get used to it. If you’re not used to wiping by now, then a progression guild may not be for you. It’s the courage and the will to continue that counts. Accept the fact that there are nights where we’re seemingly going to beat ourselves against a wall. That’s what learning is all about. We wipe, we learn, we move on. If this is not something you’re prepared to do, then this guild is not for you.

We’re going to have good days and bad days. Some days, we’re just going to have to grind out the encounters. We’re going to have a lot of fun regardless of what happens.

Those three principles will center around the attitude in running the guild and raids. It won’t be a democracy. Democratic guilds have always been stonewalled. There would always be disagreements. Filling the guild with people who agree with our vision solves most of that. We have an amazing leadership team who work very hard. Believe in them.

II. Schedule
Progression raids are scheduled for 4 days a week, one week in advance. Members of the status Raider and higher are expected to sign up and attend at least 3 out of 4 nights every week. Level 80 toons of rank Member are considered to be "bench players". Bench players are expected to be available to fill in raid spots at least 2 of the 4 progression nights when needed. Raiders who are taking a leave of absence are expect to coordinate a with a bench player to assume their role until they return.

Raid times are Sunday - Wednesday 900PM - 1200AM server time. Invites begin at 830PM and summons to the instance begin at 845PM.

III. Performance
Everyone gets held to the same standard of high level performance.

The following is expected of every player:
1. Know your class, boss encounters and mechanics.
2. Know how to spec and gear. You should be using the best gems and enchants available.
3. Know your rotation or priority.
4. Review logs. Recount, WoW Web Stats and World of Logs are acceptable.
5. Come prepared. Flasks, Food, Fully Repaired, Regents, etc...
6. Be on time.
7. Ask for help.
8. Be able to take constructive criticism.
9. Don't stand in the fire.

Most importantly we are willing to help. We want you to be a better player. Better play means we see more content. We are not your parents. We are not mad at you. We will not yell at you. We tell you exactly how to be better. We never have a problem with you, just your play.

Unless you are a douchebag. Then you are gone.

IV. Leadership and Rank

1. Guild Master: In the rules of WoW there can be only GM. The GM is the embodiment of the vision of guild, not the supreme ruler. The GM is the chair of the Ruling Council. The GM schedules and presides over the meetings. The GM is responsible for the agenda of the meeting and calling for votes. The GM is also an ambassador for the guild and an advocate for its members. Complaints and disputes involving other members of any rank should be brought to the GM for resolution.

2. Commander: Commanders all have seats on The Council of the Covenant. The Council controls all aspects of the guild. Any issues are discussed and put to a vote in a biweekly meeting. The council has 5 members at anytime including the GM. A Commander is vested with full power and authority in all matters where a vote is not required.

3. Captain: All Captains have specific jobs. This includes recruitment, bank management, forum moderator, and others. Class leads are also at least officers. Captains have the power to invite, but not promote, new members.

4. Raiders: Any member who is expected to attend 75% of progression raids.

5. Members: Full members of the guild who are level 80 and do not have a full time raid spot.

6. Casual: Main toons that are still leveling.

7. Officer Alts: Alts of the GM, Commanders, and Captains.

8. Member Alts: Alts of Members.

9. New Recruit: New members still in probation.

V. Recruitment, Application, and Probation

Any level 80 toon may apply to the guild. This does not guarantee an invite.

The application must be posted to the guild forums and contain the following*:
1. Toon's name, current server, class, spec and professions.
1. What were your previous guilds?
2. When can you raid?
3. Do you have dual spec? If so, is it geared?
4. List your alts.
5. List the addons you use.
6. Post a screenshot if your in-combat UI.
7. Do you use Ventrillo?
8. Why do you want to join?

*This is subject to change. The application template will be posted in the Recuitment forum.

Once a toon has been accepted they will be on probation for two weeks. At the end of the two weeks a vote is held by the council for the member's acceptance. If the vote is unanimous the toon is promoted to Member. If not and the "nay" vote is unchangeable then the toon is asked to leave.

A note on /gquit: We take gquitting very seriously. If you gquit, the chances of being reinvited are very small. Please consider this before taking any action.

VI. Loot

There is no perfect or fair system for deciding loot.

Loot is distributed by a Shroud DKP system.

DKP points are awarded for attendance, boss kills, progression wipes, and actions that better the guild.

DKP bidding in the Shroud system is a hybrid between traditional DKP and Suicide Kings. It facilitates speed and rewards effort. It also discourages DKP hording and does not punish new members.

DKP points may be docked as punishment if so decided by the Council.

Exceptions include any non-gear loot. These are decided in advance for the good of the guild. This includes orbs, patterns, and quest loot.

Please see the Loot Distribution FAQ for details.

VII: Conduct and Expectations

One of the main goals of this guild is to have fun. We are an adult guild and as such explicit language is not a problem. Disrespectful, racist, and other hateful language is a problem and will not be tolerated.

All members are representatives of the guild and being a douchebag in PuGs, trolling trade chat, and generally being an idiot reflect poorly on the guild. You are expected to be respectable in and out of guild.

We use Ventrillo while raiding and while just hanging out. While raiding and engaged talk when you are supposed to and don't when you are not. Raid Leaders and class leaders will be issuing commands and they need to be heard. If you are not in a raid group you may listen in on a group channel silently.

VIII: Required Addons and Applications

All Raiders are expected to use Ventrillo and a headset microphone.

The following addons are required:
1. Deadly Boss Mods
2. Omen
3. Recount
